RESTART: Restoring emotional and psychological well-being in and beyond prisons

2024-1-NO01-KA220-ADU-000244906

THE PROJECT

RESTART is a European Erasmus+ project that aims to support the emotional and psychological well-being of inmates, both during incarceration and after release. The project recognises that reintegration is not only about employment or education — it also requires emotional balance, mental resilience, and healthy social skills.

Through a collaborative partnership across five countries, RESTART explores new methods and tools for prison staff and professionals working in correctional education. The project collects good practices, co-develops learning pathways, and delivers resources tailored to real-life prison contexts. These include communication workshops, digital tools, group activities, and emotional literacy materials, all focused on helping inmates regain confidence, rebuild trust, and prepare for life beyond prison.
